Went on /ck/ and saw a post where a guy killed a deer and asked how to properly make use of it and field dress it and when people said "just make sure to watch out for bullet fragments in the meat" he responded with this which is unironically one of the funniest fucking ways to hunt a deer I think I've ever heard

To use your deer tags, you need to be hunting with the correct weapon during the season associated with that weapon. There are typically archery, muzzleloader, and shotgun seasons (some states also have general "modern firearms" seasons). There are NOT roofing hammer seasons, so this is technically poaching regardless of deer tags. Baiting is also illegal in many states.
